Description

Nin –  oldest Croatian royal town

Nin is a 3000 years old town situated on an heart-shaped island in the middle of a lagoon. You can enter the town only across two 16th century bridges. Croatians arrived at this urban location in 7th century, and it became Seat of Croatian Bishop in 9th century. It was a free royal city since 1244, then conquered by Venetians in 15th century and destroyed by them in 17th. There are still remains of one of the greatest Roman temple on the East Adriatic coast. The heavenly patrons of Nin are St Anselm and St Marcela (Biblical persons) and St Ambrose. The Duke Višeslav Baptistery, one of the most famous symbols of Croatian history, was used in year 800 to baptize pagan Croatians. Furthermore, the Church of Cross (so called World’s Smallest Cathedral), used for religious purposes, but also as a clock and calendar, it is of great religious, historical and cultural worth, as it resisted all wars and destruction. Many other historical and modern jewels are hidden around every corner of this once urban giant, now a peaceful flower of Croatia.

Pag Island – prepare to be amazed

As a second part of the excursion, Pag will amaze all of your senses. Dalmatian wine and famous Pag cheese will excite your taste buds, while the island of Pag will take you into blend of traditional life, historical sights and modern fun.
